Oxford Recorder Day 2015

A fun day of playing at Rye St. Anthony School for young recorder players from Grade 3 upwards. Players who are not quite ready to join in a full NYRO day or have not reached the minimum Grade standard are welcome to join us for the afternoon session. Our tutors for the day are Colin Touchin and David Lawrence.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with a warm-up session and ends with a short informal concert  for families and friends from 3.30-4.00 p.m., featuring some of the pieces studied during the day.

The day is aimed at recorder players aged 8 to 21 with a playing standard from Grade 3 up to Diploma (aged 8 to 21) and recorder teachers.

There will be massed playing sessions, group work (according to playing standard) and tips on technique.

Come and be inspired, make new friends (or meet up with old friends) and have fun!

Cost: £25 for the full day (£5 for the afternoon only).

Teachers who bring 5 or more pupils can come for free!

Those coming for the whole day should bring a packed lunch.

Please bring a music stand with your name on it, plus all your recorders.

Those coming for the afternoon session only should aim to arrive at 1.30 p.m. and bring the £5 payment for the session.

Squash and biscuits will be supplied at all break times.

If you are auditioning for the Summer Course, a separate e-mail will be sent detailing the proposed times and audition requirements.

The location is Rye St. Antony School, Pullen’s Lane, Oxford, but please use OX3 7SA for satellite navigation, as the school would prefer us to use the Franklin Road entrance.
