Easter Course
This is a relaxed course, including technique and beginner bass classes as well as chamber music and recorder orchestra sessions. No audition is required.
This is the perfect starting point for younger and less experienced players as well as providing playing challenges for the more able. During the course, players will be split into smaller groups according to their playing ability. There will also be sessions when everyone plays together.
For players who live locally or have less experience of residential courses, there is a day student option at a lower cost. Players wishing to take this option will arrive in time for the first morning session and return to their families after the evening playing. Lunch and an evening meal are included in the cost.
Age: 10 to 21 on the 1st of April. (Younger players of the required standard may be considered; contact the NYRO Administrator to discuss your application.)
On the last day there will be a short concert for family and friends. No tickets are necessary.
The cost covers musical tuition, accommodation, all course activities and the loan of music and instruments in some cases. Travel costs to and from the course are not included.
Remember, if you think you cannot afford the fees, help may be possible. For example, the Society of Recorder Players has the SRP Walter Bergmann Fund to assist young recorder players. Early application is advisable.
