Eileen was appointed director of NYTRO in 2006, a role which involved selecting music, conducting NYTRO, and the joint NYRO/NYTRO Orchestras. She now remains a consultant to NYRO.
She has made her career, having studied musicology, 'cello and recorder, as a teacher, performer, composer, and conductor, in many places, including The Netherlands and Iceland. Eileen now lives in Scotland where she occasionally performs with the recorder ensemble Flauti Anumati Scotica. She also conducts the Scottish Recorder Orchestra as well as many other groups including Recorders Incorporated. In recent years, composing has grown to be an important part of her activities.
